Warrington Charities Trust aims to help small groups, new groups and projects, or groups which find it difficult to raise all their funds themselves. All grants awarded must be for charitable purposes and must benefit the community of Warrington.

You can ask for funding towards running costs, training, publicity, events, equipment etc. You can ask for a grant to cover the whole cost or to top up your own fund-raising for the need you have identified.

The size of grants varies according to need, but is generally up to £500. There is no guarantee you will be successful every time you apply, but all applications are considered carefully and judged on their merits. The Trust cannot give grants to individuals, nor can it fund rent for premises, salaries, vehicle running costs, outings, holidays or parties.

How to Apply

Grants are given out three times a year. You need to apply on the Trust’s application form as follows:

• by the end of January for a grant awarded in February
• by the end of May for a grant awarded in June
• by the end of September for a grant awarded in September
