Are you a charity or a small

group doing charitable work

in and for the benefit or

Warrington?

Warrington Charities Trust was established in 1989 with the aim of raising funds from industry, commerce and trade, together with individual donors, in common effort to improve the quality of life in Warrington Borough. The funds raised are to be distributed amongst the myriad of small charitable organisations, which rely mostly or totally on voluntary donations to finance and administer their charitable activities.

Applications for grant-aid are sought from small, often struggling Warrington based charitable organisations throughout the year. The Trust distributes grants twice a year – in the summer and at Christmas.

The Trust is governed by a management committee of nine Trustees, three from the corporate sector (industry, commerce, trade); three from the charity sector; and three from amongst individual donors/sponsors.  All Trustees, including co-opted members, give their services in an entirely volunteer capacity.

Applications for grant-aid are sought from small, often struggling Warrington based charitable activities throughout the year by formal and informal means.  The Trustees have the power to apply the grant funds in a manner as they think for the benefit of the Trust’s charitable objectives.  Feedback is sought on the actual use of the grants given and achievements made.
